Mark S. Stevens, 51, of Delong, IN, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023.
Mark was born on January 7, 1972, in Plymouth, IN, to Stanley Stevens and Brenda Collins. He grew up in Delong and had a genuine love for the outdoors. Whether it be late nights fishing for catfish or early mornings hunting for turkey or deer, he always felt intrigued and fascinated with nature.
Growing up with a father as a musician, Mark also developed a deep admiration for music of all genres and styles but enjoyed the blues most. Anyone who knew Mark Shane knew how much Stevie Ray Vaughn and his music meant to him. As a teenager he became engrossed in learning to play the electric guitar like all the musicians that inspired him. Besides music, the outdoors, and other interest Mark craved and retained knowledge, facts, and information about a plethora of topics. Friends and family meant everything to him. Whether it be his own sons, grandkids, or numerous nieces and nephews, children always brought a smile to his face.
Mark is survived by his two children: Tyler Mitchell and Shane Michael, 3 grandchildren: Grayson Blake Woodrow, Karen Franklin, and Brooklyn Joy, brothers: Phillip, Timothy, Ryan, and Chris, and lone sister: Judy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and eldest brother, Terry Mitchell.
Mark had a heart of gold and was always trying to help others in some way, shape, or form. He will always be loved and remembered by those who knew him and knew how much he cared for and loved others. May his soul forever be at peace.
A time of visitation will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, Indiana, on August 2, 2023, from 1:30 - 3:00 PM EST. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 PM EST. Interment will follow at Leiters Ford Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the family.
