John W McLemore, 90, of South Bend, for. merly of Culver, passed away December 1, 2024.
John was born to Robert McLemore and Lucille Whitfield on September 28, 1934, in Louisville, KY. He attended Culver Academies and graduated in 1953. He then went to Amherst College, graduating in 1957 with a Masters degree.
John married Marie Olliges on October 5, 1968, in Louisville. He later relocated and took a position with Culver Academies as a student supervisor for many years. He was a philanthropist, supporting family and children support groups, such as Boys Town, Family Christian Development Center, and Indiana Right to Life. Marie passed away on March 17, 1997.
John is survived by his caregiver of many years, Janice Snider, and her sons, Scott and Sean Snider. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Father Stephen Felicichia will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM EST with the rosary being recited at 9:30 AM EST at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Culver. John will be laid to rest next to Marie in Calvary Cemetery, Louisville, KY on Monday, December 9, 2024.
