Jean Ann Rakich, 84, of Culver, passed away at 8:10 AM on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at home with her family surrounding her.
Jean was born to Charles R. and Alice (Talmage) Hughes on September 16, 1939 in Anderson, Indiana. She met the love of her life, Mylan Rakich, while attending college. On July 20, 1958 they married in Anderson, Indiana and were later blessed with two children.
Jean was a homemaker and an active member of the community. In addition to her membership at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Culver, she was in several community groups, such as the Lions Club.
Jean is survived by her children: Michael Rakich of Culver, and Beth (Alessandro) Gherardi of Boulder, Colorado, and grandchildren: Sarah Petty, Giovanni, Umberto, and Eleonora Gherardi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mylan, on March 30, 1994, her parents, and sister, Bettie Johnson.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Culver, on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM EST. Interment will be private.
