james "jamie" eugene ore

May 28, 1973 - March 16, 2025

James "Jamie" Eugene Ore, 51, of Culver, passed away unexpectedly at home due to a sudden illness on March 16, 2025.

Jamie was born to Bobby Ray and Diane Ore on May 28, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois. He worked many important jobs over his life, however, working at the Bremen Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff's Department, and Southwire gave him a deep sense of pride. He loved being an officer, and one of his favorite parts of the job was "Shop With A Cop", which was just one of the many ways he shared his kindness. Jamie was also a compassionate animal lover - he held a special place in his heart for his dog, Kendra, for years after she had passed away, loved iguanas, and cared for many neighborhood cats.

Jamie's daughter, Evelyn, was the shining light of his life. They enjoyed going to parks together, swimming, snuggling, and going out for special breakfasts and karaoke pizza once a week. Jamie was very proud of Evelyn, or "Bunny" as he called her. He loved to share with family and friends all of their adventures together and her many successes.

Jamie is survived by his loving daughter, Evelyn, bonus children: Brandon and Jessica, his mother: Diane Ore, and siblings: Joseph Ore, Robert (Alyssa) Ore, Diane (John) Bernier, Melissa Ferrarini, Hollylee (Steve) Bakey, Star (Justin) Staggs Underwood, and Ronald (Linda) Craft. He will also be lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews: Nathan, Brandon, Nichole (Jon), John, Brian, Ashley, Kristi, Jaki, Mikey, Andrew, Jack, Olivia, Matthew, and Ethan, as well as great niece, Charlee. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Ore.

A memorial gathering for Jamie will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, 104 E Lake Shore Drive, Culver, IN, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm EST. A Celebration of Life will be held in Illinois this summer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made toward a memorial fund for Jamie's daughter, Evelyn. Please make checks payable to Hollylee Bakey.
