Donna M. Johnson, 99, of Culver passed away January 4, 2025, at Miller's Merry Manor surrounded by her family.
Donna was born at home in Culver on February 25, 1925. She was one of three children born to Guy and Jesse (Hoyt) Patesel.
Donna was married to Robert E. Johnson Sr. on May 28, 1955, in Michigan City, Indiana and together they began a family. She worked in the X-ray lab at Kingbury for a time before becoming a postal carrier in Culver, working her way into becoming postmaster in Burr Oak and then New Paris, Indiana.
Donna enjoyed making crafts, a wide variety of music, especially polka and big band, and spending time with her family. She and Bob owned the Culver Dime Store from 1975 to 1980.
Donna is survived by her sons: Kevin (Liz) Johnson, Robert (Helen) Johnson and Sven Johnson, 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Robert E. Johnson Sr., son: Brian Johnson, daughter: Cynthia Reichard, brother: Ed "Bud" Johnson, and sister: Goldie Kaley.
A time to gather with the family and share memories will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM EST followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM EST. Burial will be in Culver Masonic Cemetery.
