Connie Jean (Wieringa) James, 64, of Ora, IN, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN.
Connie was born February 22, 1961, in Plymouth, IN, to William and Nita (Wedgebury) Wieringa. After high school she fell in love and married Ronald E. James on April 28, 1979 and they began a 46-year adventure filled with love, laughter, and family.
Connie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and watching her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews play sports. She always had a kind word for everyone and if you told her you loved her, she would always say "love you more." She loved snowmen, all shapes and sizes.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Ron James of Ora, IN, sons: Ronnie James Jr. of Culver and Tommy James of Ora, IN, daughter: Tina McIlvain of Pulaski, IN, brother: Chuck (Sue) Wieringa of Knox, IN, grandchildren: Abbigail (Kenton) James of South Bend, IN, Tyler (Nicole) Katschke and Alisha (Josh) Katschke, both of Winamac, IN, Aaron and Allan James of Culver, IN, Esten Katschke and Ryker McIlvain of Pulaski, IN, and great grandchildren: Aubriana, Waylon, and Oaklyn Weaver, Kai, Brynn, and Kobie Katschke, and Kovu and Arlo Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: William "Butch" and Larry Wieringa, sister: Mary Guyse, and granddaughter: Elexes Katschke.
A time of visitation will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 12:00 - 2:00 PM EST with funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM EST. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Winamac, IN.
Dinner will follow at the Knox Center Township Fire Department.
