Cletus Jackson, 71, of Monterey, Indiana, was born to Addie and Alma (Mullins) Jackson at home in North Judson, Indiana on September 23, 1951. He was one of 8 children. Cletus left school at an early age and began his working career doing many different jobs over the years. He married Bea Thomas in February 1970 and together they had 3 daughters. He also fathered another daughter and son.
Cletus loved living in Monterey, spending time with his family and friends. He spent a lot of time outdoors, gardening, coon hunting, taking care of his fruit trees, and tending to his numerous farm animals. He loved being the life of the party and entertaining everyone while playing guitar and singing his favorite tunes.
Cletus is survived by his daughters: Mistie (Bill) Dulin and Nickie (JJ) Johnson, both of Ora, Indiana, and Kymmi (Eric) Miller of Knox, Indiana, son: Jerry Hurt (Dawn Allen) of Ohio, sister: Pauline (Jack) Frasure of San Pierre, Indiana, grandchildren: Mikaela (Levi) and their 4 children, James (Abbi) and his 3 children, Kena (Alex) and their child, Airiel (Alex) and their 2 children, Kherin, Pryor, Jimmy, Zac, and Grayson. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Ginger Kring, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
A time to gather with the family will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, on Monday, September 18, 2023, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM EST. Carlos Bastardo will lead services at 1:00 PM EST at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Alexander Heinemann Memorial Cemetery in Ora, Indiana.
