Carl "Red" Brock, 91, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at his winter home in Wimauma, Florida.
Carl was born on May 21, 1931, in Twila, Kentucky, to the late Eli and Vina (Howard) Brock. Carl proudly served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. After the service, he relocated to Indiana and met the love of his life, Darlene Ann Warner. They were married on January 28, 1956, and they remained in Marshall County their entire married life. They were devoted to each other for 38 years when she passed away in September 1994. They were long-time members of the Culver Eagles and enjoyed great times with friends. They looked forward to their annual trip to Vegas with their friends.
Red's working career was with the Culver Military Academy as a Chef. He started at the Culver Inn and retired from the Dining Hall. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends after his retirement.
Red participated in the activities of the Church of God in Wimauma, Florida. He traveled around on his golf cart more than his car. He went on several cruises with the church group and truly enjoyed them.
Red is survived by his sister, Evelyn Brock, and sister-in-law, Virginia Brock. Also missing Red are many nieces and nephews and neighbors in Argos who were so kind and caring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers: Stokley, Riley, George, Randy and Eli Brock Jr., and sisters, Jewell and Florine Buell.
Military graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Burr Oak Cemetery, 19441 14B Road, north of Culver. Immediately following services will be a luncheon at the Culver VFW Post 6919, 108 E. Washington St., Culver, Indiana.
