Paul Edward Leary, Jr., 73, of Sturgeon Bay, WI, passed away at his home on February 15, 2023.
Paul was born to Paul and Wilma (Wood) Leary on May 25, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, where he earned his BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He later earned his MA degree in Public Administration at Indiana University in Indianapolis.
Paul spent 40 years working as a civil service engineer, supporting military operations for the U.S. Navy and Air Force. From a very young age, Paul enjoyed ham radios and general aviation. His love of flying led him to meet and marry Mary Ann Easterday, his wife of 46 years. Paul was deeply devoted to his family. He was a very proud and active father, grandfather, and brother.
Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, 3 children - Colleen (Mark) Kinney of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Michelle (Terry) Devitt of Orlando, FL, and Matthew (Lindsay) Leary of Niceville, FL, 8 grandchildren - Claire and Andrew Kinney, Taylor and Morgan Devitt, Grayton, Emma, Ellie, and Gaines Leary, 6 siblings - Pat (Dick) Kennedy, Kathleen Leary, Theresa Leary, Tom Leary, Jackie (Michael) Leary-Warsaw, and Dan (Jill) Leary, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Leary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Culver, Indiana, on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Father William Meininger officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Children's Hospital in Memphis or you may plant a tree in his memory.
